The Colorado Cat Collectors' Club attended the Cat Care
Society’s Annual Dinner and Auction on September 6, 2008, held at the
Denver-West Marriot. This year’s
theme was “Masquerade Madness; Cat Care Kitties Visit Venice”. Most everyone wore a mask, some very
elaborate with feathers and others wore a simple black mask or with a cat
face. Activities included a Silent
Auction, Dinner, Live Auction, Raffle, and costume contest. There was also a separate drawing for a
gorgeous pearl bracelet valued at $2,145, for the purchase of a $20
ticket. The Silent Auction included
several cat clocks, jewelry, artwork, handmade masks and many other unique
items. The stage was decorated very
elaborately with jesters and huge masks.
Auctioneer was Don Martin and the MC was Ernie Bjorkman,
Channel 2 Evening News Anchor.
