The Colorado Cat Collectors' Club met on February 10, 2008, at Simms Landing in Lakewood for brunch and to celebrate our club’s 11th Anniversary, since we missed last year’s 10th anniversary.  We had a very nice brunch with champagne and reminisced with the photo album of the club’s history.

We all agreed that it was time to stop the birthday celebrations by giving gifts EACH MONTH to the birthday person (or people).  Instead, we agreed to have one big birthday celebration once EACH YEAR.  It will probably be in June or July, and we will each bring a gift to exchange, sort of like what we do at Christmas.  We could draw numbers, as we do for our Christmas party; or we could draw names in advance.  By drawing names, we would know a little about what that person would actually want to receive.  We also agreed that we would like to spend more time doing other things, different things, such as going to shows, visiting special events in town, rather than a mandate of a birthday celebration.  This doesn’t mean you cannot give a birthday gift on the birthday; it just means we will not have a special get-together to celebrate that birthday.

The next get together will be March 22, 2008; and we’re planning to go bowling!  Yvonne will send the email with details.
